ABA Summer Shooting & Skills Program

2025 ABA Summer Shooting & Skills Program

The ABA Summer Shooting Program allows players the opportunity to get the valuable repetition needed to become a more consistent shooter.  Players are placed in groups of 4 and are taken through various drills that will produce game like shots.  Each player will get an average of 200 shots per 30 minute session for an average of 400 shots per week.  This will amount to 1,600+ shots in this 4 week program.

The program will utilize “The Gun” shooting machine (as shown below) which is an outstanding tool to allow for a maximum number of shots in a short period of time.

The ABA Summer Skills Program will help develop the following:

Ball Handling: Various ball handling drills to help improve/strengthen each players ball handling skills.

Separation/Mid-Range Moves: Players will learn a variety of separation moves to get space from their defender and allow them to get an easy shot off. The better the competition, the better defenders will be. Our separation moves are designed to get players 2-3 feet of separation from their defender for an uncontested jump shot. There’s no need to settle for a contested fade away jumper when you can create space easily.

Finishing Moves: It is our opinion that if a player can finish 70 percent of the time around the rim they will be, at the least, an all conference player. Players will learn numerous moves and techniques to finish around the rim and over larger players in the paint area.

Lead Instructor

Zeph Clark

Zeph played competitive basketball since 2014. In his career he has won awards from The Sunflower League, Ralph Miller Invitational, and KSHSAA state awards. Out of high school Zeph committed to the University of Saint Mary to continue his athletic career. While at the University he was injured in a practice cutting huis playing days short. Since leaving the University, Zeph has taken his basketball knowledge that he gained from playing for 15 AAU teams, 2 High Schools, and college experience and started training young athletes. Zeph loves training more than playing now. Teaching the fundamentals of basketball as well as advanced moves. Zeph would love to see young players in our AGAPE HOOPS shooting and skills camp. Where players will be working on finishing at the rim, ball handling catching and shooting as well shooting off the dribble.
